Re:Lighting - Inspired by The Conjuring

A study of the lighting used in The Conjuring designed by John R. Leonetti with practical implementation into Liam Tart's Sci-Fi Bunk (Original work can be found at : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/kl9LA )

Using a couple of scenes from the film as inspiration, I analysed some screen grabs to get an understanding of the principles used by Leonetti in creating the atmosphere, both in terms of value composition and colour, taking into consideration the choice of camera angles, lenses, etc.

The study culminated in practically applying my conclusions to a real scene, and I felt Liam Tart's scene was perfect for what I wanted to explore, while being a different enough environment to challenge my ability to capture the essence of the original work without just trying to directly copy it.

This was a really fun project, I recommend anyone to explore Leonetti's lighting in this film as I think it's got so many clever touches and is a gold mine of inspiration based on just this small section!
